What is the message of Christianity? John the Apostle declares the message is “God is Light, in Him, there is no darkness.” What is the implication of God being light? We are in Him through Christ and therefore we are in the light with him. We are encouraged through the apostle to walk in the light as He is in the light. When we walk in the light we learn to love one another as God loves us. Love find its origin in God and therefore in the light. God is light. God is love. When we walk in the light we walk in love. Love involves laying down our lives for one another. Jesus laid down His life for us and therefore we ought to lay down our lives for one another. There are many verses in the word that tell us how to walk this way. Honor one another ahead of ourselves, consider others better than ourselves, look not on your own welfare, but on the welfare others, etc… To walk in the light is to walk in love. Let’s continue to walk in the light by walking in love! PB
